Pennridge Partnerships Create Meaningful
Experiences Beyond the Classroom
More than 100 Pennridge students with special needs
enjoyed a memorable day of learning, laughter, and
inclusion at Tabora Farms this fall, thanks to the
generosity of farm owners Caleb and Patricia Torrice
and their family.
The free districtwide Community-Based Instruction
trip brought together students from Life Skills, Autistic
Support Level 3, Daily Living Skills, and the High School
PACE Center programs. Students took part in a scenic
wagon ride through the orchard, an apple education
session, hands-on apple picking, sensory exploration,
and time to enjoy the farm. Each student selected
apples to take home and received a freshly baked
cookie from Tabora’s bakery. The Torrice family’s care
and attention helped make the day fully inclusive. They
even built a custom ramp so students who use
wheelchairs could participate in the hayride and
orchard activities, ensuring that every student had the
opportunity to experience the joy of the day.
For Pennridge, the Tabora Farms trip was more than a
field trip. It was a powerful example of community
partnership, inclusion, friendship, and the meaningful
learning that can happen beyond the classroom.
Chief for a Day Celebrates Service
and Student Leadership
Lights flashing, students cheering, and a police escort
back to school made for an unforgettable day at Guth
Elementary as Pennridge and the Perkasie Borough
Police Department partnered once again for the Chief
for a Day program.
Rooted in Guth’s School-Wide Positive Behavior System,
the program recognizes students who demonstrate
kindness, leadership, responsibility, and community
