STEM at the Heart of
Pennridge’s Vision:
Innovation Across All Grades
From Metal Shop to STEM‑Forward
Innovation Lab
This past school year, Pennridge High School started
Fab Lab on Wheels:
the transformation of its former metal shop into a
Sparking Innovation in Elementary
modern STEM & Entrepreneurship Lab, a cutting-edge
Classrooms
space where tradition meets innovation. Blending
woodworking, plastics, engineering, and design with
entrepreneurial thinking, this revitalized space
embodies the district’s evolving vision.
Through newly launched coursework, creativity isn’t
just encouraged, it’s structurally supported. Through a
combination of academic programs, student centers,
and hands-on experiences, Pennridge will now offer a
pathway from product idea to marketplace launch. Our
students will not only build things, they will pitch ideas,
prototype solutions, and explore how invention meets
enterprise by creating products that can be used in
industries today..
This work is a strategic step in aligning student
experiences with regional workforce needs.
Through a close partnership with the Bucks County
Intermediate Unit (IU), Pennridge’s elementary
students experienced hands-on innovation via the
Mobile Fab Lab, a mobile maker space that brings
3D printing, coding, laser cutting, and robotics into
classrooms for another successful school year.
Visits from the Fab Lab occurred multiple times
across all seven elementary schools this year. With
new PAsmart Innovation Grant funding, the program
is set to reach over 30,000 students countywide.
During a Fab Lab visit to West Rockhill Elementary,
students exclaimed their excitement over
